| Break even calculator |
This calculator allows you to calculate the sales volume required to offset your fixed costs or overheads, assuming you have an estimate of fixed expenditure and cost of sales (i.e. the direct costs of generating a given level of sales excluding overheads etc).
For example, you estimate that for every £100,000 of sales your direct cost of sales (eg labour and materials) is £40,000 (incidentally, that would be a gross margin of 60%). You also know your fixed overhead costs amount to £90,000 a month. The calculator will reveal at least £150,000 of monthly sales are necessary to break even. |
