Input the number of miles you drive each year, the cost of petrol in pence and the average fuel consumption rate of your car in miles per gallon and the resultant figure represents your annual fuel expenditure. Miles per gallon figures are readily available, however converting this rate to miles per litre complicates matters. This calculator resolves the conversion complication.

For example, your annual travel amounts to approx. 13,500 miles. The price of fuel is an extortionate 105p per litre and your car gets 40 miles to the gallon. Your annual expenditure on petrol based on these assumptions is £1,608.86.
