Vehicle benefit calculator

This calculator facilitates the calculation of the income tax benefit-in-kind arising on a company car provided to an employee by the employer. The taxable benefit varies depending on the car's list price (up to £80,000), fuel type, CO2 emissions (useful link provided below) and whether fuel is also provided by the employer.

For example, the list price of the car of £21,500. The employee made no contributions or private use payments, so these fields should be left blank. The car was first registered in 2006, so enter 2006 or later. Enter Petrol or Euro IV compliant because it is a petrol car and the external link has given a CO2 emissions figure of 183. The employer does not pay for the vehicle's private fuel.

The calculator produces a benefit charge of £4,945 on which tax will be payable at either 22% or 40% and the percentage of list price used will be 23%.
